Had a great time staying at the Blue Butterfly! The location is close to the beach and near a park. It is also near a train station for day trips to Chicago. Thank you for a great vacation!

We had a great experience at the Blue Butterfly! Elizabeth was great at communicating and answering questions prior to our arrival. The home is adorably decorated and very comfortable. There are multiple common areas as well as enough private spaces (rooms and bathrooms) for our group of five to spread out and enjoy ourselves comfortably. Everything was extremely clean, the bathrooms and kitchen are well-stocked and Elizabeth has thoughtfully compiled lots of information about the area and where to eat/go out/spend an afternoon. Highly recommend!

We stayed here with 7 adults. Plenty of room. Nice dining/living room we could all fit in. Well maintained. Lots of helpful extras (kitchen utensils and board games.) We liked the quick walk to Miller Beach. Very enjoyable stay!

Here are some of the extras: book cases stocked with classics; many personal products; detergents for dish and clothes; beach accessories such as awesome chairs, an umbrella, a few inflatables, some sand toys; a really nice swing set, corn hole, and a paddle and ball game; fire pit with fire wood; charcoal and lighter fluid; grill tools; first aid kit (which we needed); a few board games; a portacrib; a high chair... So many little -and big- things that we often have to purchase or lug when on vacation were provided for us. It made it seem like home. Also, our group was 13, so I was worried about how well we would really fit, but it worked out just fine. There was even a fold up table and folding chairs so that we could extend the dining room table and all sit together. We were so pleased. The kitchen was small, but also very well equipped and stocked with some basic pantry items. We found it to be so user friendly. We used four different beaches in the area and every day was great. We did use the fold out sofa one night and those sleepers found the bed was not comfortable enough to sleep on. Sleeping on the couch itself was preferable. And there were three couches to choose from, so it worked. Nice and clean when we arrived. Kudos to the Blue Butterfly staff.

We cannot speak highly enough of our week at the Blue Butterfly. The home is perfect for a family with elementary school & up children - foosball & games are inside; cornhole & a swing set out back - plus a garage for keeping your bikes, scooters, etc. and a big driveway for playing. That allowed the adults to have some downtime and the kids to have plenty to do. Also, just 2 miles to Marquette Park, which has both the beach & a great playground.

Inside, the house is well-furnished, clean and well-maintained with plenty of room for large families to enjoy time together...or separately. The table fits 8 and there are 3 sitting rooms. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, pots & pans, serving dishes - everything you need for a week away from your own kitchen.

The house is just 2 blocks from the beach and walking distance to a few restaurants in Miller Beach, including Miller Beach Cafe & a BBQ place which we unfortunately didn't get to. The house is also a short drive to the West Beach entrance to the Indiana Dunes National Seashore which are great for both swimming & walking on trails through the magnificent dunes.

I hope we have the opportunity to come back to the Dunes - and if we do, we'll be back at the Butterfly.

I stayed here with 5 adults and 5 children and it felt like there was a ton of space. Elizabeth was extremely nice to work with and responsive. The house had board games, speakers for music, a fire put, a swing set, a TV in nearly every room and was very well kept. We were walking distance from the beach, a few blocks from a public park, and only 15 miles from Indiana National Dunes.

Lake Michigan had all the perks of the ocean without the saltwater, Jellyfish, sharks, etc. We had a great time and I hope to visit again soon.

My family was in town for a wedding and we used the house as a home base. Everything we needed was on hand or close by. The beach was simply stunning, and we flew kites at sunset. I will recommend the house to everyone I know.

I had my bachelorette party here and my friends and I enjoyed the spaciousness of the house! It was about 1.5 blocks from the beach. Great place!

We really enjoyed our stay and we are planning on coming back when the weather is warmer to take advantage of the back yard and the beautiful lake front!!

The blue butterfly was perfect for us. We really appreciated all of the different common spaces for different groups and generations of our family to unwind. Lots of beds, and well thought out locations of the beds in the various bedrooms. Well stocked kitchen was very useful for us. We will be back anytime we are in the area.

It was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a small bridal shower there one night and we had plenty of room for 12-14 women! Our grandsons loved the Foosball table and we loved the warm and cozy beds.

We were very pleased with the house. Nice neighborhood. Couple blocks walk to the beach. The pool and deck were super nice and super clean. The 5th bedroom added an area for our older kids to hangout without the younger kids bothering them all the time. Also, we never ran out of hot water, which was great when we came back from the beach and all wanted showers at the same time. We ordered from both restaurants that are within walking distance and both were great.

We had a party of 11. 6 children and 5 adults. There was plenty of room for everyone. Very well stocked. Didnt have to worry about anything. Elizabeth was great!!! Everyone loved the pool, had great weather and in the pool most of the time. A short 2 block walk to the beach, which was wonderful, couldnt get the kids to leave. Great pizza place, Flamingos within walking distance, and wish we had one in our hometown, it was SO GOOD!!! The bakery restaurant across the street was pretty awesome also. There for 6 days and cooked on the charcoal grill alot. Would definately come back for a vacation again. Thank you Elizabeth for everything!!!! Yvonne

The place was delightfully clean and bright with the best knife set we have seen in a rental. The kitchen was well appointed with plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, and spices. Great distance from the lake. 18th Street Tap Room is nearby and not to be missed.

Nice newly finished basement, bathrooms and bedrooms. Good location, beach a block or two away, 3 restaurants a block away. Nice to have patio in back, though it'd be nice to do something with that old pool deck area. No screens in windows, but no bugs this time of year so we dealt with it. Thank you

What a great location, only two blocks from the beach and lake! The pictures and description was on point. This house was impeccably clean, furnished, and decorated. Beth and Sam were so helpful and responsive.

This house has plenty of space and a really nice patio in the yard for after a long day at the beach. We got to check out the local farmer's market, downtown wine tasting, and hiked all the awesome dune trails in the area. We ate at a nearby Pizzeria called Gelsasamos (great pizza). Early in the morning we drove 15 minutes to Hobart to go to County Line Orchard for apple and pumpkin picking.

We will definitely be returning soon.

The Blue Butterfly II was outstanding. A wonderful location, only a five minute walk to the shores of Lake Michigan, and all the room we needed for our family gathering. The house was impeccably clean, well-stocked in the kitchen for preparing meals and comfortable beds in every room. This totally exceeded our needs and expectations. We will definitely stay here again for our next family gathering.

The house was perfect! We had 12 people and there was plenty of room for everyone.
